Hereafter, we shortly describe the race, pointing out times of route, set on the possibilities of a common
excursionist. From the Pasturo central square (650 m), along the san Calimero street, you should follow a
cart way with the trail sign n. 33 and it should be crossed ignoring the side ramifications up to the chapel
devoted to Maria Regina Pacis.
At the following alternative, take the left path, walking straight ahead to the long way in the wood,
until meeting the mule-track that climbs from the Colle Basilio. When you reach the alternative with
the path of the Traversata Bassa, you should follow it, in direction of the Pian Resinelli, that are
can be reached after long but not fatiguing walk (about 3 hours from Pasturo). When you leave the
refuge Soldanella (1354 m) at your back, you go toward the refuge Alippi, at the bottom of the
south-western slope of the Grignetta.
From here, crossing the Sentiero delle Foppe, with two hours and half of walk, you arrive at the
refuge Rosalba (1730 m). We are in the hearth of the Grignetta, in front of the walls where generations
of mountaineers have climbed, coming from Lecco and from the whole Italy as well. Steeples and pinnacles
have eccentric forms that often offer an incredible panorama, completed by the foreshortenings on the lake.
Crossing the not so easy Sentiero Cecilia, you go out on the Cresta Cermenati and shortly after, the peak
of the Grigna Meridionale is reached (2177 m), to one hour and a half from the refuge Rosalba. From the top,
with the help of a chain, you will walk lower along the northern slope, to the Canalino Federazione,
that should be faced with caution, and you will reach the Buco di Grigna (named also Bocchetta Campione),
from which, folding up to the left, you will continue down toward the refuge Elisa (1518 m), that is reached
with one hour and a half of descent (from the top) not always easy. A beautiful path, in some parts equipped
with chains and ropes, hands to a fork between the Sasso dei Carbonari and the Sasso Cavallo (Val Cassina),
historical walls that lean out on the lake of Como, and from here to the refuge Bietti (1715 m).
The following stage is the refuge Bogani (1822 ms), on the northern slope of the Grignone, reached
with one hour of walk from the refuge Bietti. Afterwards you should begin the path toward the top
of the Grigna Settentrionale (2409 m), for which it is necessary to estimate approximately two hours
and a half of walk. The refuge Brioschi, just a littel bit under the peak, appears, after so many
hours of hiking like a pleasant mirage. Passing first the Bocchetta di Releccio and then the
Bocchetta della Bassa , now you should go down along the steep oriental slope of the Grignone
until you reach the refuge Pialeral (1320 m). The path is now in the North-East direction and with
a long line in light slope you get the little church of San Calimero (1499 m), in a splendid
panoramic position. Leaving this place with some regret, you should continue down to the refuge
Riva (1020 m) and from here you return to Pasturo, where, once you've arrived, our marvellous
Trekking delle Grigne is completed.
